Explore Our Gananoque Lake Nature Reserve!
We are delighted to invite you to a guided tour of Gananoque Lake Nature Reserve on Sunday, June 16th! This biodiverse refuge for more than 25 at-risk species is part of the Frontenac Arch wildlife corridor from the Adirondacks to Algonquin. We will also explore a 58-acre property next to Gananoque Lake that we are seeking to protect. The property owner has kindly offered to give us a special tour of his land that we hope will eventually be permanently protected.

Action Alert: Stop Highway 413!
There are no two ways about it – the proposed Highway 413 will cause irreversible environmental devastation. This six-lane, 52-kilometre highway would pave over 400 acres of the Greenbelt and more than 2,000 acres of Ontario’s most productive farmland. It would negatively impact 29 species at risk, cross over 85 rivers and streams, and destroy or partially destroy 75 wetlands.
Please join more than 4,300 of our other members and supporters to voice your opposition to the proposed Highway 413. Together, we can urge the federal government to step in and fulfill its obligations to protect waterways, at-risk species, migratory birds, fish and to achieve its climate commitments.

The Indigenous Environmental Institute at Trent University, Plenty Canada, Walpole Island Land Trust and Ontario Nature jointly lead the project. You can apply or nominate someone else at ontarionature.org/ycme.
This project has been made possible by the Government of Canada and Ontario Power Generation.
