March 2025 conservation updates for Ontario Nature’s 150 member groups and their supporters. Together, we are the voice for nature. Please share this monthly newsletter with members of your group and ask them to subscribe.
This month our newsletter is full of ways that Ontario Nature supports and connects with its Nature Network and other partners! We hope our member groups will take full advantage of these resources. Not a Nature Network member? Find out more about it on the Nature Network webpage!
Calling all wetland conservation and protected areas advocates! We are hosting two webinars that may be of interest to your local advocacy efforts:
Register now to learn how Ontario Nature’s new Wetlands StoryMap and wise practices report for local wetland conservation policy can help take your wetlands conservation efforts to the next level.
Register now to learn about Ontario Nature’s work advocating for more protected areas in central and northern Ontario, the policy options available for protecting land in Ontario, and how you can join us in urging the Government of Ontario to commit to expanding protected areas.
We have a new resource for groups and individuals wanting to help save a cherished natural area from destruction. Our Greenprint for Action toolkit outlines steps and tips for building a successful movement and is free to all on our website. This toolkit is found on the Resources and Publications section of our webpage with other great free toolkits, videos, reports, communications and more.
Do you want to volunteer for nature or need a volunteer for your Nature Network group? Either way, Ontario Nature’s volunteer posting newsletter is for you! The newsletter connects organizations seeking volunteer with volunteers to help support conservation work across Ontario. We piloted this newsletter in 2024 and are now making it an official program for 2025!
Postings can include one-day event needs, seasonal work, a special project or ongoing positions with an organization – whatever is needed to support wild species and wild spaces work! Postings received by the 25th of the month will appear in the newsletter that comes out at the beginning of the following month (e.g., Postings received by March 25 will be in a newsletter sent on the first week of April).
Don’t miss out on your opportunity to recognize a deserving environmentalist in your community. This is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for one of your hard-working volunteers. Nominations for the Ontario Nature Conservation Awards closes March 24.
See our events calendar for a complete listing of events organized by Ontario Nature and Nature Network groups.
To submit your public events to our online calendar, email them to noahc@ontarionature.org and allow up to a week for posting. Please send only events that are open to the public and no more than three per month.
We want to include more content from the network and will feature a story or two each month from network groups, as well as other resources. We encourage you to share your stories and links by emailing them to naturenetwork@ontarionature.org.
