We want to hear from you! Please sign our Declaration Guest Book and tell us a bit about why you care about protected places.

Hello ,

More than 4,000 individuals have signed our protected places declaration and 100 organizations have endorsed it. Thank you for your commitment to conservation.

We have been inspired by what our supporters are saying about what protected places mean to them. Your comments and passion for nature motivates us to push even harder to reach our goal of protecting at least 17 percent of lands and inland waters by 2020.

Now we want to hear from you! Please sign our protected places guestbook and tell us why you care about protected places. Your stories bring the campaign to life.

We are not alone in this fight for protected places. It’s encouraging to know we all share these same values and a staunch commitment to wild spaces. Here are some of the comments we’ve received so far:

This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Seventeen percent is a drop in the bucket. We just have to do it. There is no economic return for destroying our world. There is none.” – Chris Craig

We share the same canoe, and it’s time for the paddles to hit the water. We are in fast water now, and we need all the wisdom we have to guide us through.” – Rick Beaver

Canada is trying to comply with its obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity, to protect 17 percent of our lands and waters and to incorporate Indigenous Knowledge. So we’re at the stage where we can shape this. There are leaders who will listen to what we have to say.” – Larry McDermott

Please also take a moment to share your comments using #WhyISignedProtectedPlaces with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!
