The Government of Ontario is Proposing to Fully Reinstate the Spring Bear Hunt

Supporters of the spring bear hunt have argued that cancelling it would cause an increase in human-bear conflict and there would be dire consequences for human safety. After a partial reintroduction in 2013, the provincial government is proposing a full reinstatement. Read more about this decision in our blog. You can keep up to date on conservation news, questions, stories from the field and more by signing up to be notified about our weekly blog posts.

Nature in Ontario Urgently Needs Your Voice

The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks is consulting on the mandate of conservation authorities and has posted a survey for public input. It is more important than ever to have your voice heard by those who impact the future of wild species and wild spaces in Ontario. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey and voice your support for conservation authorities. You can read more on our webpage: ontarionature.org/cas.
