Spring ON Nature is Hot Off the Press
You won't want to miss the spring 2022 issue of ON Nature! This special themed issue is devoted to the plight of Ontario's fresh water. In it, you can read about efforts to have Ontario's waterways granted legal personhood, a cache of groundwater in Simcoe County that could be the world's purest and development pressures that threaten a rare population of brook trout. ON Nature is a member-supported magazine. For just $50 per year, you can help fund Ontario Nature's work protecting wild species and wild spaces and receive a print copy of the magazine.

Nature Network Group Wins Scott Beemer Award
Our congratulations to the Eden Mills Eramosa River Conservation Association (EMERCA), which received Nature Guelph's first Scott Beemer Nature Award! The award recognizes EMERCA's project that naturalized the opening of a weir at the head of the east branch of the Eramosa River in September 2020. A maintenance-free boulder opening now connects the upper pond with the lower reaches of the river, maintaining a healthy aquatic habitat while protecting downstream properties from potential flooding. Congratulations to everyone at EMERCA for a job well done!
